As a teenager, Palin had attended the Assembly of God Church in Wasilla, Alaska, and she encouraged her friend to commit time to church.

``She just had a strong relationship with the Lord,'' said Hagerty, now an Idaho lawyer.
Hagerty shared a dating dilemma with Palin one day. ``I'm going to go back to my room and say a prayer for you,'' Hagerty recalled Palin saying. When Hagerty felt better the next day, Palin credited the prayer."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30096810.post-29224553422619017192008-09-28T03:04:00.000-05:002008-09-28T03:04:00.000-05:00A very interesting article. Those who have done so are probably angry, or perhaps aren't properly catechized, or perhaps don't care enough to stay -- which are all extremely poor reasons to leave.

So perhaps Sarah Palin and her family would be open to returning to the Catholic Church. It would be nice if Catholic bloggers, or perhaps a member or two of the laity, or a Cardinal or a Bishop, would go to the effort to formally extend a hand towards the Palin family and ask them to return home to the Catholic Church.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30096810.post-13684805319486542412008-09-25T09:54:00.000-05:002008-09-25T09:54:00.000-05:00One has to wonder just how 'Catholic" the Palin fa...One has to wonder just how 'Catholic" the Palin family was before their conversion. The priest scandals may have prompted them to leave , but the Assembly of God church is so very far away from Catholicism......there has to be more to the story.Robert Simmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06957786024332264856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30096810.post-30780621430303692102008-09-25T08:53:00.000-05:002008-09-25T08:53:00.000-05:00I say once a Catholic, always a Catholic. The sac...I say once a Catholic, always a Catholic. The sacrament of baptism has powerful, positive effects upon a person and leaves an indelible Catholic mark upon their souls. At any point in time, even if the person wanders away from the church, God will enact the grace of baptism to bring them back. I fully believe that Sarah Palin and her family(her parents included) will come back to their Catholic roots. She is a more faithful Catholic, (probably without consciously realizing it) than Pelosi or Biden, who reject the teachings
of the Church on the sanctity of life. This is why the intensity and frequency of attacks aganst her. Good will triumph!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30096810.post-59176759844652873242008-09-22T18:40:00.000-05:002008-09-22T18:40:00.000-05:00Fascinating.
