The Honey Pot

The Latin High Mass is offered at Blessed Sacrament Church in Kansas City, KS on Sundays at 10:45 am. I usually don't attend this Mass, but did so this weekend.

The Gospel told of the miracle where Jesus fed thousands after they had followed him for three days and were hungry.
I tried to imagine the crowd following Jesus to listen to him. His messages on those three days must have been a supernatural "honey pot" that made them stay with Jesus, rather than return home where food and bed were available.

The parking lot at Blessed Sacrament Church was full of cars with licenses from different states and counties. Some people obviously spend a lot of time driving a long way to find the old Latin Mass. The reasons may be explained in the Latin Mass Community's Report, a post in Church Closings in Kansas.

The old Latin Mass is a "honey pot," too.

Isn't Pooh a protestant?

Dust I Am said...

In answer to your question, I googled "Pooh" and "Protestant" and found mostly "pooh-poohed" and "pooh-bahs." The most appropriate hit notes The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet use Milne's characters in an effort to explain the Eastern Philosophy/Religion of Taoism. So maybe Pooh is really a Taoist.

Yet, Wikipedia says Pooh is featured in the article, "Was the Winnie-the-Pooh a good Muslim?" So I googled "Pooh" and "Muslim." HITS!

The site http://www.tektonics.org/guest/pooh.html. clearly shows how "Winnie-the-Pooh followed the five pillars of Islam, ritually washed, ate clean foods, and reprimanded sinners. He was, by any definition of the term, a good Muslim. But another key test of a person’s Islamic orthodoxy is whether he subscribes to the six major beliefs of Islam. We refer, of course, to belief in God, angels, Scripture, Prophets, the Last Day, and predestination. Can we find evidence that Pooh believed in these?"

The author then shows that Pooh believes in at least two of the six major Islamic beliefs. [However, don't forget to read the author's subtitle, for why the author argues that Pooh is a Muslim.]

Actually, Pooh cannot be a Muslim, because Pooh has a friend named Piglet. Muslims consider pigs unclean animals and must purifiy themselves after prolonged exposure The clear proof that Pooh is not a Muslim is that Turkey's public television station TRT, which is controlled by the Islamist-rooted government, has barred the Winnie the Pooh story from being broadcast. See http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,19503274-1702,00.html?from=rss.

I'm not sure any religion wants to claim Pooh, because he is describd by Eeyore as "A Bear with a Pleasing Manner but a Positively Startling Lack of Brain."
